New Kitchen Toys

I braved the crowds this morning to grab a few things I really wanted. These are two of the things I came home with:

So that leaves me with a question for all of you (you too, mom). What can I make in a 2.5 quart crock pot? Well, it’s not crock pot brand, so I guess I should say “slow cooker.”

And I do have a couple of food posts in the works, just need to get around to writing them up!

How Do You Make a Grilled Cheese?

A few months ago, my friend Skeet made a post about Grilled Cheese and Bacon Sandwiches. Now, I don’t use bacon, but I was making a Grilled Cheese Sandwich for lunch yesterday, and thought of her post here. So I wanted to ask all of you…
How do YOU make a grilled cheese sandwich?
I use two slices of regular white bread, miracle whip, american cheese, and of course, margarine or butter for the outside. Sometimes, I’ll add a few hamburger dill pickles. And I like it just done on the outsides, not burnt.

What’s the perfect sandwich in your world?

Boiling Over

I have a question for those of you who aren’t learning to cook. Can a lousy pan cause your water to boil over? Or, more to the point, how do I make my water stop boiling over?

I can’t figure it out. I used to be able to boil water with no problems. Suddenly about a month ago, the water started boiling over every. single. time. It doesn’t matter how much or how little water I put in the pan, how high or low I turn the temperature. I’ve tried everything I can think of, and the tips/tricks I’ve come across and still the water boils over.

What gives? Do I just need new pans? (The answer to that question is yes, either way, but I want to know if it will solve my problem lol)
