Cherry Fluff

Another dessert this week, and more cherries! It’s such an unassuming name, but this dessert was incredibly easy to make. I found it in the 15 minute section of my Simple and Delicious magazine. I’ve found that it works really well for pot lucks, and it’s perfect to make the day before… just mix it up and stick it in the fridge until it’s time for your get together!

I don’t really have much more to say about this recipe, just that if you like pineapple and cherries, you’re bound to really like this one!

Cherry Fluff Ingredients

You’ll need softened cream cheese, crushed pineapple, cherry pie filling, pecans, cool whip.

8 oz. cream cheese

Start by putting your 8oz. of softened cream cheese in a large bowl.

Crushed Pineapple

Add in your 20 oz. can of crushed pineapple, undrained.

Beat together

Beat the cream cheese and pineapple together until they are well combined.

Cherry Pie Filling

Open your 20 oz. can of cherry pie filling, and dump that in the bowl.

Add 1/2 cup of chopped pecans.

Stir together

Stir in the cherries and the pecans until it’s pretty well mixed together.

Cool whip

Empty the whole 8 oz. container of cool whip into the bowl…

Stir together

And stir it in completely!

It doesn’t look like much, but it sure was tasty. Not to mention really easy to make. I imagine it would be easily customizable with different fruit, too. Sorry for the less than appealing picture… I tried to get a good one with natural sunlight, but I just ended up with a blurry picture and Cherry Fluff smeared on the window.

Cherry Fluff

1 pkg (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 can (20 oz.) crushed pineapple, undrained
1 can (21 oz.) cherry pie filling
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 carton (8 oz) Cool Whip, thawed

In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and pineapple. Stir in the cherry pie filling, and the pecans. Fold in the whipped topping. Refrigerate until you’re ready to serve.

I have been looking for this recipe for the longest. Now I can finally appease my taste buds. Thanks for sharing

I love this stuff though when I make it I use Eagle brand milk instead of Cream Cheese. I will have to try it your way and see how I like it. My grandma started making it about 10 years ago and I’m the only one who eats it which means I always get to bring some home. Now I have to go to the store and get all the ingredients. YUMMY!

My family used to have this at Christmas. My uncle always called it Pepto Bismal Salad because it was so pink. It is very yummy!

This really looks great. I’ve seen it at the cafeteria near my house but never tried it. I think I’ll make some really soon. I have to quickly tell you something about myself. I write cookbooks and in them I offer ingredient change suggestions. For this dish you could easily use blueberry or strawberry filling for different tastes. Thanks for sharing this with us.

What do you mean, it “doesn’t look like much”? The color is glorious. It looks like eating it would make one cheerful and happy.

Yea! One I can finally make without any chance of burning down the kitchen. My grandmother always used to make a strawberry or lime version for the holidays, and I actually make the orange version at Thanksgiving. I’ll have to try this cherry one. Thanks for the recipe!

This looks similar to something my mom use to make. I don’t think she ever used cream cheese though. Seems like an interesting touch.

BTW, I think this is my first time here and I must say I love your blog. Thanks for putting so much time into taking the pictures, it really helps out.

I love these fluff recipes. They are great for get togethers and family meals because they are easy and yummy. Years ago I tried one that was green and had rice and pistachio nuts. I’m still trying to find that recipe. Thanks for sharing your version.

Hey, Looks great and I plan on trying it. I bought some at the local grocery store (cherry/pineapple fluff) When I got it home I discovered it also had COCONUT in it. Yikes!! How awful.
Anyway, I printed out your recipe but I wish you would condense all the instructions and ingredients together and NOT between the pictures. Cause I had to print out all the pictures in order to get all the directions. It uses up alot of ink and paper. (4 pages) and lots of expensive ink. Just a suggestion!!! Keep up the good work.

We tried this at Beehive Assisted Living. We have 15 seniors currently. It is a huge hit. They love it! We omitted the pecans but other than that, it is a tried and true recipe.

I just made this and I couldn’t help but steal a few spoonfuls here and there. My little girls loved it and will give some to my husband when he gets home from work. Thank you. Such an easy recipe and oh so tasty.

OMG. Something this good should be illegal! Lol, my mom didn’t use cream cheese, but can’t wait to try it this way.
