Yep, that's right, you have to cook it between low and medium heat (this also reduces the shrinkage.) Take a fork and kind of poke it when in the pan(this keeps it from curling up too much.) Keep in mind that bacon cooks another minute or two after you remove it from the heat. So if you take it off still a little limp and just getting a nice light brown, when you let it sit on the plate for a minute or so, it will continue to cook.

Always empty the grease in the pan before placing another batch in to cook. If you don't, it will smoke and you'll end up with a lot of (often painful) splatter.

The most important rule...YOU CAN'T COOK BACON FROM ANOTHER ROOM...lol...you'd be surprised how many people try to do this. They put it on and then go in the living room to watch t.v. You have to stay with it and watch it.

Once you get the hang of it, it's so easy you'll be cooking bacon right and left. (and I agree with the other poster...baked and microwaved bacon just aren't the same, nor is the pre-cooked kind)

it's the middle of the night, and looking at your photos makes me crave for a BLT right now. i don't have the ingredients to make one though. *sigh* if only we could be satiated by goodie food pictures. :)

I'm an over-baker-bacon-maker myself. Just put it on a baking sheet and bake it at 400 for like 20 min till it's how you like it.

Also, I would TOTALLY cut the tomato to fit like you did AND I'm happy to know there's someone else who likes their cold cut sandwiches "thin". If I get a sandwich at the deli I pick off half the meat and make another sandwich with it later. They always put too much tuna on, too!
